The iconic Court Square Fountain runs red with the blood of its many enemies.
Explain more, please.
Red, symbolizing the suffering of the slaves who were bought and sold many years ago?
Jay, I’m not sure what there is to explain. They dye the fountain (seemingly every few months) to raise awareness about breast cancer. In this instance, I think the dye was a little more red than pink. Any symbolic meaning is (as it always is) in the eye of the beholder.
As much as I am for research into cures for various diseases (my son-in-law-to-be works for the FDA), it is disconcerting to see a pink ribbon on my cereal box and now even trash bins are pink.
